Dimitrios Politis, Owner and Operator, Nexx Burger

Interview

Dimitrios Politis,
Owner and Operator, Nexx Burger

OpenCX:

What does a day running the operation of Nexx Burger actually look like for you?

Dimitrios:

We currently have three restaurants and one catering truck. What I do is oversee the operation, seeing how we can improve it, not just operations, but service and food too, the whole picture. How can we make customers come in and leave with a smile, and come back again? I like to see it from the customer's journey first, then work my way back to the business.

OpenCX:

And where are those locations?

Dimitrios:

We're based in California. Our Downey store is in Los Angeles County. In Orange County we have two stores, in the city of Orange and in Santa Ana. Our food truck is based out of Bell Gardens, right next to Downey, and it drives out to corporate events, birthday parties, weddings, wherever it's needed.

OpenCX:

So before OpenCX ever entered the picture, what was the actual moment that got you thinking about AI in the first place?

Dimitrios:

In the fast food industry, sometimes the volume and traffic get so high that we don't have time to pick up the phone. And that's a missed phone call, which means possibly missed revenue. That's what made me start looking into AI, to see how I could improve the operation without losing revenue, while letting my team focus on the customers on site.

OpenCX:

You mentioned the catering side specifically feels that pain the most. Walk me through what changed there.

Dimitrios:

We incorporated it into our catering truck. Now if you call us, the AI picks up, gives you all the information about the truck, requirements, and how to book. You can even ask if we're available on a specific date, and it checks the calendar and tells you in real time.

Interview

Catalina Aristizabal,
Director of Operations, RL Funeral Service

OpenCX:

Whatu2019s the motivation for a service company like yours to bring artificial intelligence into your client care process?

Catalina:

Itu2019s obviously a super interesting challenge, something genuinely important, and itu2019s part of the present, not the future. It lets us reach more of the right audience, better understand our clients, and take repetitive tasks off our team so we can hand that work to automation instead.

OpenCX:

How do you make sure AI still supports that human side of the service, given how sensitive the moment is for your clients?

Catalina:

There will always be a human touch required in this kind of service. But I feel that the AI we have today helps us deliver that warmth, that care, and guide the client through the right process with the right communication from the team.

OpenCX:

Why did you choose OpenCX over the other options out there?

Catalina:

What I liked most is that I get to keep my own framework and data ownership. If today Iu2019m very happy with the service, but tomorrow anything changes, I keep ownership not just of the data, but of the model built from that data.
